Se ha trabajado la implantación de una arquitectura orgánica que acompaña una topografía excepcional.

The motive of the contest was to give form to the first plot of the residential zone of “Malabata hill” and to locate as entrance door the first architecture museum of Africa

The study on a big scale took as reference the Tanger "medina", located on the other side of the bay. Closer the “Harris Villa” serves architectural and landscape reference for its relationship of white buildings in a dense vegetation.

The landscape takes its own language to articulate the spaces of what will be the entrance of this new neighborhood. The density of the vegetation and clearings play to give spaces of comfort to the visitors and inhabitants of this new “quartier”. The rotunda and the front of the museum create a more open space as an agora where the mineral spaces interact with the humid vegetation as opposed to the most intimate environment of the residential areas.

The implementation of an organic architecture that accompanies an exceptional topography has been worked on. Therefore, the volume of the house is nuanced with as much finesse as the landscape in which they are.

Tanger enjoys a spectacular setting and a unique geography. The city combines a landscape rich in ecological diversity and architectural and cultural heritage. The strong topography of Tanger will be the spine of the development of the project, its revaluation will initiate the architectural composition and reveal the natural geography of the site.

On Morocco, like all landscapes with water shortage, store rainwater is a practice that goes back to ancient civilizations. However, in the contemporary societies this antic practice has almost vanished. With this project, we reinvented this practice: the rainwater is collected in non-permeable parts, like roofs and hard pavements and redirected to the rotunda where it is stored in a humid environment.

The entrance paths are articulated with the slope to create a network of paths on terraces. In the central areas of the residential part appears living areas for the use and enjoyment of the users. This network of paths is made of concrete to make contrast with the vegetation. The proposed plant environments start from the most orthodox Mediterranean forest to a more exuberant garden, where plant species provide freshness and a friendlier identity to interior spaces.
